Camping Details Fall 2019

Hi Parents & scouts,

I wanted to give details about the camp out, you can begin setting up tents and help setting camp beginning at 5:30pm. Our policy is if you are all set up and ready to go, please help others in the pack, as many hands makes for light work.

We are camping at Camp Manatoc, (1075 Truxell Rd #9734, Peninsula, OH 44264) we are at the Gilwell Campsite, when you pull into Manatoc follow the road and then follow the signs, you will go past the administration building, and basically keep left. The male cabin is Gilwell, the female cabin is Young Explorers, we will give you directions to there once you arrive.

Please remember if you haven’t handed in your Health Forms bring them Friday evening to camp.

There will be a sign in and sign out sheet if you need to leave for sporting events and other activities, please also inform your Den Leader as well.

A few reminders, please bring a mess kit, basically a plate, fork, knife, spoon and cup. If you are a coffee drinker, please remember a coffee cup, we don’t carry disposable cups, plates, etc.

Also please remember to dress in layers, it will be chilly Friday evening, also pack extra clothes, especially socks.

**Please eat dinner before you arrive there will be no meal served on Friday Night. 

The schedule of events for the weekend.

5:30-6:45 – Set up camp
7:00pm – Evening hike
8:00pm – Movie in the Pavilion/Snack
10pm – Lights Out

6:00am – Breakfast cooking community report for work
7:00am – Breakfast
8:00am – Clean up, ready for activities, Flag Ceremony
9:00am – 11:00am – Archery & BB / Lion Activity
11:00am –
12:00 pm – Lunch
1:00 – 4:00pm Rotation Activity (hike to minihaha/Gaga Ball/Fieldgames & Frisbee Golf/Possible Scavenger Hunt)
4:00pm – 5:30pm – Den Time & Skit Planning
5:30 Dinner
6:30 pm Clean Up
7:00pm Flag Ceremony
7:10pm Smores
8pm Campfire Program including flag retirement
10pm – Lights Out

7am Breakfast
8am – Clean up & Pack Up
9am Check out
